This Week Bobby Talked About...

Bobby’s Book Club presented by Pathway Bookstore on Keith Street in Cleveland on online at trustpathway.com. Each month we’ll take a book from their TOP shelf and read it and talk about it here on CCM Sunday. This month it's 'The Next Christians' from Gabe Lyons... He begins by declaring the culture war has ended. Christianity is no longer the dominant ideology of the West.   If you want an illustration of this change in our culture, consider the revelation Lyons had while driving through Europe. He noticed a church in every town square and thought of our sprawling suburbs that are no longer organized around a geographical center. You get the picture. Culture, and what is at the center of culture, has changed.
The reaction by the religious community to this change is the same today as it was in Jesus’s day. Some become separatists, others seek accommodation.  Jesus presented another option. Instead of engaging in a battle to return to something that is gone, we should seize this opportunity to rediscover our true identity as the church.  'The Next Christians' from Gabe Lyons... pick it up at Pathway Bookstore on Keith Street in Cleveland or online at turstpathway.com… we’ve got a link and a code that save save you some money on the book - even a link directly to the book online at ccmsunday.com.

Deep in the woods of Italy a man was found who had been living as a hermit for the past 20 years. Years ago he suddenly quit his medical practice and simply disappeared. [The story gets even sadder. There are still patients sitting in his waiting room.]

There’s an app that will pay you to go on a walk. Bitwalking tracks steps — just like a standard fitness tracker or pedometer. As your steps rack up, so does your money. The smartphone app keeps a counter of currency along with distance traveled so users can see cents stacking up through the day.  It takes 10,000 steps to generate one BW$ — which is equal to $1.
