It's almost the end of September... this week fall or autumn begins...  so it’s time for the season of strange foods. Like S’mores Candy Corn and Pumpkin Spice Peeps.  Soon after that it's turkey and ham of Thanksgiving and the countless mugs of eggnog at Christmas time... I can almost smell the calories!

Just a few weeks to go till I get to start running again so pretty much anything having to do with running has caught my eye of late, including this.  Jenny Simpson ran the final 600 meters of the 1,500-meter finals at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing without a shoe. The heel of her shoe got caught on another runner and slipped off. But she kept running and Simpson crossed the finish line for 11th place.  And keeps a good attitude and sportsmanship.... proud of you....

A new app called VHS Camcorder almost perfectly recreates the experience of shooting video with old school cameras. The app’s creator says VHS Camcorder was designed to “look and sound like videotape recordings that have been in storage for 30 years.” In true camcorder-style video it even gives your video an obnoxious date stamp. It only available for iphones at this point but you can download it here.

It's labor day weekend... typically that ends the vacation season for most Americans...  new survey out show that not only are Americans not using all their vacation time, they aren’t doing much relaxing during the days they do take off.
