The Barna Research Group reported in 2016 that just 16 percent of Millennials believe the Bible is the actual, literal Word of God, and one in three Millennials view it as “not inspired by God” or “just another book.” One in five teenagers has a similarly negative view of Scripture. That's why Wycliffe Bible Translators USA, the largest Scripture-translation organization in the world, announced it will spearhead #WhyBible this September. It's a campaign to spark conversations about the Bible’s relevance to modern life. #WhyBible will run throughout the month of September, and Wycliffe USA anticipates it becoming an annual initiative. Where is the quietest place in the U.S.? Acoustic ecologist Gordon Hempton thinks he’s found the “quietest square inch in the United States.” It’s marked by a red pebble that he placed on a log in a corner of the Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park in western Washington State. The area is actually full of sounds, but the sounds are natural — by quietest, Hempton means that this point is subject to less human-made noise pollution than any other spot in the American wilderness.

A study shows working long hours has a greater negative impact on women than men because it makes them more likely to eat unhealthy foods, drink unhealthy amounts of coffee and smoke. On the upside both sexes consume less alcohol if they spend more time working, researchers say, but toiling extra hours makes women especially crave unhealthy snacks.

Ever been installing an app or software and ever really read the 'terms of use' that you agree to?  Turns out very few of us do. If you do read them nobody understands them. They’re too long, and they often don’t make sense. The study made the point all too clear. Most of the 543 university students involved in the analysis didn’t bother to read the terms of service before signing up for a fake social networking site called “NameDrop” that the students believed was real. Those who did glossed over important clauses. The terms of service required them to give up their first born, and if they don’t yet have one, they get until 2050 to do so.

A Hawaiian Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing due to a problem with the hydraulic system. Then when it landed it blew 10 tires. [That’s sounds pretty much how most of my weeks seem to start.]
